When I graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1994, I had a degree in Illustration but a desire to make paintings. What I’ve discovered in the ensuing years is a fascination for what makes our landscape quintessentially American. From our suburbs to the Malls to our parking lots, I’ve explored all aspects of our industrialized landscape through both the naturalistic and abstract . Dramatic life changes in 2010 upended my career direction and much of my recent output is focused on commissioned work (many examples under the landscape tab) and more “pop” oriented pieces (visit the nerdlyart link.) However, the American Landscape beckons and new work looms on the horizon.
My name is Jason Brockert and these are American Paintings.
